HORSES There have been troubles finding large animal veterinarians willing to be called out during disaster emergencies. She has found one, a Dr. Mayo who is willing to help out. Dr Greg Christy (DOACS) can be called upon to get exemption for horses to evacuate the state without the usually required Coggins papers. The American Association of Equine Practitioners (http://www.aaep.org/), and the Florida Association of Equine Practitioners (http://www.faep.net) has good information on contacting equine veterinarians. During a disaster the The Florida State Fair Authority will accept horses as a service to the equine industry.
